Dating Portals – Worth a Try

My friend Larissa is a beautiful woman. She's stylish, put-together, has a great job, and honestly barely gets out of the house outside of work. Going to a club on a Saturday just isn't her thing. She's been longing for a real relationship. She wants to have great sex again and meet new people. But nothing's happening in her life. It's like time has stood still and cobwebs are slowly but surely growing all around her. So she came to me and asked: "What can I do to finally meet an amazing guy already?" She looked at me with those big eyes of hers, and it just shot out of me like a reflex: "Come on, just try dating portals." She stared at me, baffled, and said: "You can't be serious. That's not for me." I grabbed her and sat her down on my couch. "Listen up, girl. If you actually want to meet someone, you need to finally get active."
Larissa's First Steps on Dating Portals
And I actually managed to talk her into it. I took a few cool photos of her, and together we put together a great profile. Three nice pictures and a warm, easygoing bio. The moment of truth had arrived, and the whole thing went online. Of course, with her looks, the messages came flooding in endlessly. Now it was time to sort through them and reply. And in the end, ten guys actually stuck out that she wanted to look into more closely. But what do you actually reply to guys on dating portals? It should come across as easygoing but still genuine. We came up with a standard message that we could tweak depending on who she was writing to. And off it went — now it was just a matter of waiting. We met up two evenings later at an Italian restaurant, and she brought her laptop along. It looked like three guys had made the shortlist for actual dates. I told her it was still worth chatting with the guys a bit longer first, so she could figure out who was genuinely interested.
